First Nations Write Night

15 February @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Our monthly First Nations Write Night is an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to come together to develop their writing alongside one another.

Writers can get some solid work done in quiet, or discuss concepts and receive feedback from the facilitators. If needed, Casey and Luisa will have writing prompts to encourage new ideas.

All writing styles and forms are welcome – poetry, fiction, memoir, screenplays, etc. We provide some small finger food to snack on, as well as tea and coffee, but you are welcome to bring your own dinner if you want a proper feed.

This session will be facilitated by Nyungar women Casey Mulder and Luisa Mitchell.

This event was made possible thanks to generous support from Spinifex Foundation.

What to bring: bring a notebook/pad and pens, or laptop to write. You are welcome to bring your own dinner/snacks.

Photography and consent: by purchasing a free ticket, you acknowledge your photo may be taken at this event and consent to it to be used by Centre for Stories for its marketing purposes. If you do not wish for your photo to be taken or used, please explicitly let us know at [email protected].

Travel and accessibility: Central Perth Train Station is a 10 minute walk from Centre for Stories. The closest parking is at 6-8 Errichetti Place at Wilson Parking. Centre for Stories is a wheelchair-accessible building.

Coming from a regional area: Centre for Stories welcomes participants who live outside of Perth to join our events online via Zoom. To participate, you must still live in Western Australia. Please contact us at [email protected] to RSVP online and we will send you a Zoom link to attend.
