Fellowship of Australian Writers WA – Albany Writers Retreat

Albany Public Library, in conjunction with Paperbark Merchants, is delighted to host the 2019 Fellowship of Australian Writers WA Albany Writers Retreat.

The Retreat will see the Library meeting room taken over by writers for the week. Participants can immerse themselves in the whole Retreat, or simply book in to individual sessions. There is stimulating mix of writing workshops, poetry and talks from a range of authors. Albany’s own Dianne Wolfer and Sarah Drummond are among the featured authors.

Events include:

Wednesday October 23 7.00 pm – The Heroine’s Journey – a talk by Pat Johnson

Thursday October 24 1.00 pm – Creating Compelling Conflict – workshop with Andrew Levett

Friday October 25 6.00 pm – Spring Into Poetry with Paperbark Merchants

Saturday October 26 9.30 am – Form and Feeling Writing With Head and Heart – workshop with Renee Pettitt-Schipp

Saturday October 26 1.30 pm – The Poetics of Grief with Scott – workshop with Patrick Mitchell

Saturday October 26 7.00 pm – Perseverance, Synchronicity and the Creative Journey, a talk by Dianne Wolfer

Sunday October 27 2.00 pm – Exiles and Island Wives – a talk by Sarah Drummond

Author Talks: $10 per person (includes wine & nibbles).

Workshops: $20 for Writers Room members, $25 non-members.

All bookings and payments via the Albany Public Library with the exception of Denmark events.
