Creative Writing Online with Dr Alan Hancock: Zoom into Stories
10 May @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Is there a part of you that wants to write, or write with greater ease and inspiration? In this course you will experience how to write freely, how to structure a story, and how to open up your writing to imagination and spontaneity.
You will learn an approach to writing that will help you go deeper with your work. And you’ll put the ideas into practice with a series of tried and tested writing exercises that will open up creativity and imagination.
You will look at extracts from the work of top fiction authors, which will inform and inspire our writing. Through this you’ll learn how stories work, and how you can craft stories that engage a reader. There will be time to work individually, and a chance to discuss ideas and share writing as a whole class and in small groups. So – learn techniques for writing fiction and life story, take a fresh look at your favourite authors, and maybe discover some new books. And at the end of the course you’ll have the chance to join an online writers’ group.
Cost: $99 for six classes, each 90 minutes long.
Class size: maximum 24
Enquiries: [email protected]
What you’ll need your end: basic skills in Word, access to the internet, an email account, some experience using Zoom. If you can use Google documents, and have a Google account – all the better. But it is not essential.
