Cathedral Square Book Club: Part 4 with Victoria Midwinter Pitt
24 June @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm$31.68
Cathedral Square, in Partnership with Writing WA, have curated a 4-Part Book Club Series celebrating local WA Writers.
A selection of 4 remarkable WA Writers will take part in what will be a unique literary experience.
Each of the series will host the author to discuss their featured title, providing up to 40 guests with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to engage, discuss and divulge in the detail and insights of the book.
Part 4 features Victoria Midwinter Pitt for a discussion about Women of a Certain Rage, a collection of personal essays edited by Liz Byrski
Victoria Midwinter Pitt is a film and theatre-maker. Her work (including Frontier; Rampant – How a City Stopped a Plague; Surviving Mumbai; Leaky Boat and Afghanistan: Inside Australia’s War) has won Walkley & AACTA awards, been nominated for Emmy Awards and screened across the world’s major film festivals and broadcasters.
This book is the result of what happened when Liz Byrski asked 20 Australian women from widely different backgrounds, races, beliefs and identities to take up the challenge of writing about rage.
The honesty, passion, courage and humour of their very personal stories is energising and inspiring. If you have ever felt the full force of anger and wondered at its power, then this book is for you.
