Between the Lines Literature Festival Community Day (Cancelled)
4 April @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm$5
UPDATE: Owing to concerns about the possible spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and with the best interests of their students in mind St Mary MacKillop College has decided not to host public events for the foreseeable future so the 2020 Between the Lines Literature Festival, including the Community Day, scheduled from 2 – 4 April, has been cancelled. All ticket holders will be refunded.
Between the Lines is an annual festival that celebrates literature.
The organisers want everyone who participates to experience the wonder of meeting some wonderful storytellers, to sit spellbound as they breathe life into their words and make their characters dance off the page.
Between the Lines has always been schools-focused but this year, for the first time, there will be a Community Day, a day for families to also experience the magic of stories.
As well as author sessions and interactive workshops, there will be free activities galore, all book related, such as Book Bingo, Soap Box stories, book readings, comic making activities and live podcasts. With food, drinks, music, short films and reading nooks also on offer, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
There will be a bookshop set up, showcasing books by all authors who have been involved in the festival. Eftpos facilities are available.
Bookings are required for all author events ($5 per workshop) which are as follows:
- 10 am: Meet the incredible Jacqueline Harvey
- 11 am: Writing workshop with Meg McKinlay
- 11 am: Illustration workshop with Kylie Howarth
- 12 pm: Science & Stories with HM Waugh
- 12 pm: Magnificent Mistakes with Josh Langley
- 1 pm: Storytelling Session with Alton Walley
For more information, please head to the Between the Lines website, where you will find links to the authors, the program and bookings.
