ASA Authors Online Series: How to Run Virtual Appearances

27 May 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Wednesday, repeating until 17 June 2020

Are you looking to move your author/illustrator appearances online, and don’t know where to start?

The ASA has received funding from the Australia Council of the Arts to offer a FREE online series teaching you all the skills you’ll need to run virtual appearances.

Over four sessions our expert presenters will teach you:

  • the technical knowledge to get you started online including required equipment, set up and an overview of online platforms;
  • how to present your customised digital content;
  • how to engage an online audience including: managing Q&A and online etiquette;
  • how to protect the rights of your digital material and IP.

Once you have completed the course you will be well prepared to apply for a Takeaway Creatives Grant, which is administered by the ASA. Offering $1000 to fourteen individual creators to set them up for virtual appearances, this grant could be used to develop high quality digital assets, or to meet the cost of purchasing new equipment. Information about the grant is available on the ASA website.

These workshops will occur over four Wednesdays, 1 pm to 2 pm AEST (11 am to noon in Western Australia).

For more information, and to book your spot for this free event, please visit the ASA website.
