Anyone will tell you the best way to become a travel writer is to travel and then write about it. But that’s only half the story.

Whether you’re a beginning or experienced travel writer, Will Yeoman will help extend your skills and knowledge by learning the secrets of the trade from the best in the business.

Places are limited, with a maximum of 10 participants per session.

Each of the four sessions will focus on the close reading of a single text by one of the recognised masters of travel writing, followed by exercises based on selected passages. The texts are:

• Isolation by Stephen Scourfield
• Travels with Myself and Another: Five Journeys from Hell by Martha Gellhorn
• A Time of Gifts by Patrick Leigh Fermor
• Perseus in the Wind by Freya Stark

These workshops will occur on the first Wednesday of each month from January to April 2021, 6 pm to 9 pm.
