Youth Songwriting Competition

Submit up to two original songs per individual or group.

Entry is open to residents of Western Australia aged between 12 and 18 at the time of the competition final on 10th April 2021.

Songs may be entered by a group of up to a maximum of six individuals working together. If an entry is submitted by a group, the song must be entered in the age category applicable to the eldest songwriter on the date of the final.

Songs must be submitted as a sound recording, in either MP3, MP4 or M4A format only.

There are also songwriting workshops being held during January and February in Fremantle, Claremont, Mandurah, Denmark and Karratha. But you don’t need to attend the workshops to enter the competition.

Closing date: Sunday 28 February 2021.

If you make it to the finals, you’ll know about it by mid-March. You will then compete amongst a group of 12 finalists in total at Fairbridge Festival 2021. Four winners will each receive an array of prizes including a recording session and performance opportunities.

For more information about the competition (and workshops), head to the Fairbridge Festival Quest website.
