The UNSW Press Bragg Prize is an annual prize for the best short non-fiction piece on science written for a general audience.
Prizes: First prize is $7000 for the piece of non-fiction writing that best communicates science to a general audi-ence. Two runners-up will each receive a prize of $1500. Winning entries will be included in NewSouth’s anthology, The Best Australian Science Writing 2021.
The Best Australian Science Writing is an annual collection celebrating the finest voices in Australian science writing.
Word limits: 7000 words.
To be eligible for the UNSW Press Bragg Prize for Science Writing 2021, entries must have been first published in print and/or online between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021. Extracts from longer published works, including books, may be submitted. Extracts from academic theses or conference papers will not be considered. Previously unpublished work will not be considered.
To be eligible for The Best Australian Science Writing 2021 anthology, entries must have been first published in print and/or online between 1 January 2020 and 31 March 2021.
Closing date: Entries for the prize and the anthology close on Wednesday 31 March 2021.
