Have you got a story to tell? Perhaps there’s a small creature, with a big dilemma? Or a big house with small residents? Maybe it’s a big idea, told from a small voice?
The theme for the 2021 Golden Pen Writing Award theme is ‘Big and Small’. Ideas are only limited by your imagination, so if you’re in Years 4–12, the organisers of Scribblers Festival want you to put pen to paper and think about the world around you, within you and your place within it.
Choose the way you tackle the theme: through fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, comics or graphic novels.
Word limit: 3,000 words maximum.
Prizes: Winning entrants will win a cash prize of up to $500, Festival Book Shop vouchers and a creative writing Masterclass. Prizes for shortlisted entrants include bookshop vouchers and a creative writing Masterclass with a Festival author from the 2021 Festival program.
Closing date: Sunday 21 March 2021.
See the Scribblers Festival website for more information.
