GenreCon Short Story Competition

Submit a 1500-word story relating to the ‘Poltergeists and Petticoats’ theme of this year’s GenreCon, an event held in Brisbane from 22 to 24 November 2019.

Supernatural beings, a classic romance tale or a mix of both? The choice is yours when you enter the GenreCon Short Story Competition. Just be sure to include an element related to either a poltergeist or a petticoat (or both) in your story to be eligible for entry.

Entry Fee: Queensland Writers Centre Members $15 ; non-Members $20 per submission.

Prizes: First Place (5-hour Mentorship with Kim Wilkins; $150 Workshop Voucher from Queensland Writers Centre, your short story published in WQ magazine, signed book); Second Place (your short story published in WQ magazine; $70 Workshop Voucher from Queensland Writers Centre; signed book); Third Place (Live Stream Workshop Voucher from Queensland Writers Centre, signed book).

Closing date: Thursday 31 October 2019.
