GC O’Donnell Copyright Essay Prize

The Trustees of the GC O’Donnell Biennial Prize Trust are pleased to announce the 2019 GC O’Donnell Copyright Essay Prize. The Competition is in honour of the late Gustaf (Gus) Charles O’Donnell, author and founder of the Australian Copyright Council and leading thinker on copyright in Australia.

Submit an an essay displaying original thinking on a topic of your choice in relation to copyright and the protection of the interests of authors

The competition is open to any interested persons including authors, lawyers and students.

Word limit: entries should be a minimum of 5,000 and a maximum of 10,000 words in length.

Prize: The winning essay will be awarded $3,500 and published in the Copyright Reporter, the journal of the Copyright Society of Australia. The prize will be awarded at the Copyright Law and Practice Symposium dinner, to be held in Sydney on the night of 22 October 2019.

Closing date: Friday 20 September 2019.
