Bright Wings Poetry Contest

Submit up to three poems to the Bright Wings competition, being run by the organisers of the Makers & Mystics podcast.

Makers & Mystics is the Official podcast of the Breath & The Clay creative arts movement. Hosted by poet-musician, Stephen Roach, Makers and Mystics is the podcast for the art-driven, spiritually adventurous seekers of truth and lovers of life.

The name of the contest Bright Wings comes from a poem titled “God’s Grandeur” by Gerard Manly Hopkins, a Jesuit poet who contributed to the world of faith and art.

Entry fee: $20

Prizes: The First Prize Winner will receive a $500 cash prize, a scholarship to the 2020 The Breath & the Clay creative arts gathering, and an opportunity to read his/her poem on a Makers & Mystics podcast episode. The poem will be featured on The Breath & the Clay and Makers & Mystics Instagram profiles, websites and email newsletter. There are also prizes for second and third place.

Closing date: Wednesday 31 July 2019.
