Lip is thrilled to announce that entries for the 2020 Rachel Funari Prize for Fiction are now open.
This prize is held in honour of Lip’s late founding editor, Rachel Funari, in recognition of her contribution to the arts.
Now in its eighth year, the 2020 Rachel Funari Prize for Fiction is accepting entries of creative, insightful fiction up to 2000 words that engage with the theme ‘future’.
The competition is open to all women, female-identifying and non-binary writers.
All entries must be original, previously unpublished and unperformed.
The 2020 Rachel Funari Prize for Fiction is supported by Affirm Press, Pan Macmillan Australia, Fremantle Press, Kill Your Darlings, Scribe Publications, Writers Victoria, Writing NSW and the Emerging Writers’ Festival. This year’s judging panel includes Rae White, Jennifer Down and Eleni Hale.
Entry fee: $10.00.
Prizes: The winner of the 2020 Rachel Funari Prize for Fiction will take home a $1000 cash prize and will be officially announced as part of the Emerging Writers’ Festival in Melbourne.
