writingWA's apps are developed from quality Western Australian picture books and incorporate interactive age-appropriate learning components to enhance and value-add to the source literary content.
Caterpillar and Butterfly, based on the picture book by Ambelin Kwaymullina (Fremantle Press), features include "Read Along" or "Read Aloud" settings as well as interactive puzzles and games to aid memory, visual literacy and numeracy. Most suitable for children ages 2 – 8 years.
Mamang, from a publication by Kim Scott, Iris Woods, Roma Winmar, and the Wirlomin Noongar Language and Stories Project (UWA Publishing), is told in old Noongar, contemporary Noongar and English. Mamang captures the deep spiritual connection of the Wirlomin people of South-Western Australia with the sea. Features include Read along or Read alone settings, the choice of Noongar or English language narration options, and a glossary with audio in both Noongar and English language.
writingWA gratefully acknowledges the investment made in Project 360 by the CAL Cultural Fund and by writingWA's Literary Lions.
