New Brand Identity
Our new brand identity, created for us by our very talented friends at Block Branding, is an Award winner. Introduced early in 2019, the new branding has been incredibly well received and we were thrilled when Block was acknowledged with the extremely rare and very well-deserved Perth Advertising & Design Club’s Gold Skull for this work.
New website and e-newsletters
With our new branding launched, we moved on to the design and rebuild of our website. As Writing WA’s primary communications tool and a hub of information and connectivity for our sector, we are confident that this new site will continue to perform for many years to come. Our thanks go to the team at Key2 Creative for collaborating with us to achieve this.
The relaunched Literati Directory has quickly proved itself to be a very useful platform for literary creators and practitioners to promote their services in the marketplace. Further marketing of the Directory by Writing WA in 2020 will no doubt increase sector engagement which we expect will lead to increased opportunities and revenue streams for the professionals profiled there.
Two new festivals for WA
The pace continued in November with the launch of two new writers’ festivals for Western Australia – Confluence Festival in Mandurah, in partnership with the producers of the Jaipur Literature Festival, and Quantum Words Perth, in partnership with Writing NSW. We were proud to partner with these two exceptional brands and look forward to continuing to grow these festivals as signature events for our State.
In this Desert, There were Seeds
In a year that kept giving to the very end, we saw out 2019 with the launch of In This Desert, There Were Seeds – an anthology of short stories from Singapore and Australia. This beautiful book is the result of an international co-publication between Margaret River Press and Ethos Books, conceived and funded by Writing WA. We were incredibly proud to end the year with the release of this title which represents so much of the innovation, opportunity and development that Writing WA seeks to bring to our sector.
