Regional Development Fund
writingWA manages devolved funding from the WA Department of Culture and the Arts for the specific purpose of developing and delivering a Regional Development Programme throughout WA.
This programme encompasses three distinct yet complimentary components:
Please note that due to increased demand writingWA has instituted a priority system for funding applications. You will be given priority if:
- Your organisation is a financial member of writingWA (membership is a requirement but not a guarantee of funding)
- Projects indicate a collaboration in the community. Priority will be given to projects where the writer presents more than one workshop/reading and utilises funding other than that from writingWA. For example, the writer may present at the library on a Thursday evening (Regional Writers In Libraries), in the school on Friday (Alternative funding source), then a workshop with the local writers' group on the Saturday (Regional Writing Group Workshops).
- The writer receives maximum exposure and promotion
- Travel expenses are minimised and cost effective
