Biography Urszula Dawkins is a creative writer, journalist and editor based in Fremantle, Western Australia. Her writing has been published in journals and anthologies in Australia, the UK and the USA; she has also performed her work widely at spoken word events and festivals. She has undertaken creative residencies in Sydney, northern Minnesota and Reykjavík, and in 2004 was awarded a Goethe-Institut scholarship to study German in Berlin. In 2010 she will join The Arctic Circle artist residency in high arctic Scandinavia. She is a member of Murdoch University's Centre for Everyday Life.
Publication History Stories published in anthologies and journals in Australia, the UK and the USA. Spoken word performance at events and festivals including Melbourne Writers Festival, Melbourne and Adelaide Fringe Festivals, Emerging Writers Festival (Melb.), Sydney 2001 Gay Games Cultural Festival, Midsumma Festival, Sister Spit Wasted Motel Tour (San Francisco). Regular contributor to RealTime magazine, Art Monthly Australia, and to The Canberra Times' Slow Living column.
