Biography
Kate’s poems are meant to be heard, seen and felt.

Kate has always written, but began slamming her poetry in 2008, jumping up at any open mic she could get her hands on. Since then, she has been a state finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam three times, and has won the Bunbury Poetry Slam and the Festival of Yarns competition. Kate has featured at many events in WA, such as Cottonmouth, Perth Poetry Club, Voicebox and Bridgetown's Words in the Valley Writers Festival, and runs performance poetry workshops for children and adults. Last year, Kate performed at the Literary Therapist workshop in Castlemaine, Victoria. A video of Sisterhood, one of Kate's poems, was screened at the Poetry Underground Film Festival in Sydney in 2010. Kate was one of 100 women recently inducted into the WA Women's Hall of Fame for her advocacy for women through performance poetry.

This fast-paced poet wants to intrigue and inspire you. With influences ranging from hip-hop to the classics, her style has something for everyone. Get ready to hear rhymes that will tingle your spine.
