Biography Errol was born on 23rd July 1947 and had no idea of the significance of that birth date until twenty years later when he was called up for two years National Service. He led a simple life that was complicated by his experience as a Rifleman and Forward Scout in the Vietnam War during 1968/69. Before that happened he left John Curtin High School at fifteen years of age and joined part of the Crown Law Department known as the Public Trust Office. His career went from inkwells to internet as he worked his way up the career ladder to eventually become a Senior Manager. During this career he studied part time and attained a Diploma in Accounting and then a Bachelor of Business Degree. Errol married soon after coming back from Vietnam and has two children. He strived to keep fit by running or swimming long distances and one of his favourite sports was volleyball where his team won the WA Volleyball Grand Final. He also achieved the Rostrum Organisation’s “Speaker of the Year” award in the year 2000 and represented Western Australia in the National Speaking Competition in Hobart. But something was not right. For thirty years he refused to accept that the death and destruction he saw during his tour of duty had changed him. Suppression ruled his life and the effect of the war took its toll. He finally found the courage to face up to his feelings and his fears some thirty years after coming back from Vietnam. Then he left his marriage and his career. He became Totally and Permanently Incapacitated, went on a Veterans Affairs pension and moved to the beach side suburb of Singleton where he married Hilary. That was when he started to write his book and four years later it is self published. The book is called “Doorway in the Storm” - A Vietnam Veteran Comes Home with the Foreword written for him by his old Platoon Commander now General Peter Cosgrove (Retired). Errol now spends his time promoting and selling his book because he has a story to tell. He wants veterans and others to see what is possible in overcoming emotional blockages and patterns of behaviour. He meets other veterans at the coffee shop and the gym each week and his life has gone from turmoil to tranquillity.
Publication History Errol self published his first book called "Doorway in the Storm" - A Vietnam Veteran Comes Home in July 2010.
