Biography Jen Banyard grew up by (largely in) the Canning River, pretending she didn’t mind jellyfish. As a child, she loved Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series and H. Rider Haggard’s African adventures, and has gone on to write two humorous, action-packed mysteries of her own – 'Spider Lies' (Fremantle Press, 2009) and 'Mystery at Riddle Gully' (Fremantle Press, 2012). Other stories have appeared in the speculative fiction anthology for children, Worlds Next Door (Fable Croft, 2010), in ACER-NAPLAN testing and in educational magazines. Jen lives near the ocean and Bold Park bushland, and is working towards a PhD in creative writing at the University of WA alongside another children's novel.
