PlayWriting Australia, on behalf of the Theatre Board and the International Market Development section of the Australia Council for the Arts, is now responsible for administering a new travel fund for playwrights, the Playwright Travel and Promotion Fund.
The fund replaces the playwright travel section of the Australia Council fund 'Playing the World'. It aims to eliminate one of the biggest barriers to international development for writers by supporting playwrights to travel overseas in order to create new opportunities for international productions of their work.
Playwrights may apply for travel to an existing international production of their work, with a view to making contacts and attending meetings that have a strong likelihood of creating opportunities for future productions, or for a programme of international promotional activities, initiatives and meetings intended to create future opportunities for production.
