The government has once again placed an open market for books on the agenda. Because this new threat to territorial rights has been raised at a Council of Australian Governments (COAG) meeting on 3 July, ASA members are encouraged to write to the Prime Minister, the Federal Attorney General, their Premier and their State Attorney General to oppose any changes to the current restrictions on parallel importation of books.
The ASA’s position and actions on this matter are continually being updated. For current information and links to recent media coverage of this issue refer to the ASA website here.
