Are you hosting an event or doing something to celebrate the National Year of Reading that doesn’t quite fit into the events calendar?
Examples include: creating special branded items like T-shirts, mousemats or library cards, setting yourself a personal reading challenge, raising funds for a literacy charity, including the logo on your blog or website, publishing an article about the National Year of Reading in your newsletter or magazine or creating a special display or banner. It could also include events you might host such as internal school, workplace or other events that are not open to the general public that you would not like to see included on the calendar.
We’d love to hear what you are doing to celebrate the National Year of Reading. It will help us compile a full report of all the activities that took place in 2012 - we're aiming for 2,000 (the UK registered 6,000 activities in 2008, with roughly three times the population). Send an email to donna@thelibraryagency.org.au and include a brief summary of what you are doing or have done. Useful information to tell us about would be the name of the hosting organisation, location, date, contact person and perhaps a photo – let Donna know if you don’t want it published on our facebook page.
