Karrinyup Writers' Club 25th Anniversary

The Karrinyup Writers' Club Inc is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and we have launched a nation-wide writing competition.  It has two sections - fiction and poetry - with a first prize of $300 in each sections.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Short Story: maximum 2000 words – Open theme.
Poetry: maximum 60 lines – Open theme.

First Prize – both sections $300; Second Prize – both sections $150; Third Prize – both sections $75

1.   All work must be original and previously unpublished.

2.   Entrants may submit more than one entry, and may enter both categories
 
3.   Each entry must be accompanied by official entry form (or photocopy thereof).

4.   Postal entries only will be accepted.

5.   Overseas entries not accepted.

6.   A fee of $7 per entry, must be included with the entries. Payment can be made by Cheque/ M-Order / Direct Debit, either online or at your bank (see entry form for details).

7.   All entries to be typed, double spaced on one-sided A4 paper, with cover sheet. (See point 9)

8.  Entrants name and address to appear on the entry form ONLY (must NOT appear on MS).


9.   Cover sheet to be attached to submission and to ONLY contain -
     SHORT STORY:  TITLE and WORD COUNT;
     POETRY:  TITLE  and NUMBER OF LINES.

10.  Send copy of work only.

11.  No responsibility will be taken for delays in transit of any MS. Entries post-marked with the last mail closing date (21st May 2010) will be accepted.

12.  Late entries will not be accepted.

13.  Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
 
14.  Winners will be announced at the Special Anniversary Celebration to  be held in  August 2010. Venue and details to be advised.

15.  Winners will be notified with sufficient time to enable them to attend the presentation if they wish.

16.     Include a SAE with your entry if you  wish to receive the results sheet and details of the presentation function.
