Which magazine launched the career of Oscar-winner and Astrid Lindgren Award-winner, Shaun Tan?

Which magazine has just relaunched as Australia’s first true literary e-magazine?

Aurealis

Although most people wouldn’t associate Aurealis with literary magazines such as Meanjin and Overland, it has had funding on a number of occasions from the Australia Council and has been at the forefront of literary magazine publishing in Australia for 21 years.  And now Aurealis has led the way again with its relaunch as a monthly e-magazine.  Not an online magazine.  Not a digital version of a paper magazine.  Not an alternative to a paper magazine.  But a true, stand-alone downloadable e-magazine with digitally native format and features.

Aurealis is available in all e-reading formats and for all e-reading devices: iPads, iPhones, Android tablets and phones, Kindles, Kobo readers, pdfs for PCs etc.  Aurealis #45, the first e-publication issue, launches the v-view concept - book reviewing done via video clips - and feedback surveys where readers can indicate instantly what they like and don't like.

Dirk Strasser says, “For over 20 years Aurealis has been trapped inside the physical world of hard copy. Up until issue #44, the magazine has been confined by paper pages and the three dimensions of the book format. Now we've escaped. And there's no going back.”

To download Aurealis #45 for FREE, google “Aurealis Smashwords” or click here.

Aurealis will also be available from other major online retailers shortly:  Apple iBookstores in 31 countries, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Borders Australia, Angus & Robertson Australia, Whitcoulls New Zealand and more.
